GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR 2011-2012

With the main purpose of spreading formal, cultural and computer education, Vidyabhivruddhi Sangha has been silently working from the last four decades. At present our institution has an aided High School and an unaided Pre University College, a computer training center and a Carnatic music school.

Brief History of VS

 

Education is the basic need of everyone in today’s life. As the Sanskrit saying goes Vidyavihinaha pashuhu. Without education man is equal to animal. People should educate themselves to lead dignified life. People in the rural areas did not have the opportunity to get education in 50th and 60th decades. People in and around Heggodu village who were like minded to establish an educational institution to help the people of their region. Wanted to get the help of Government to start a school in this village. At that time the government had offered a matching grant scheme to start an educational institution. The people of this region were inspired by the freedom movement and Dinakara Desai movement in Uttara Kannada to start a school in this village with the help of the government.


Mr. Lingareddi the deputy chief minister of Karnataka in the year 1959 visited Bheemanakone, village, and the people gave a memorandum to him. Then education officer visited the place and gave positive report about the necessity of a high school in this region.


In 1960 under the guidance of Shree Badari Narayan, people of this region united to start the school. Donations were collected from the people of this area as Rs. 50.00 per acre or 28 pounds areca nut for three years. Havyaka Sampadabhivridhi Samaja donated Rs. 10,000.00 for the school building.

 

On 1st June 1962V.S.HighSchool came into existence. Initially the class were started in Angadi mane building of Halemane Subraya & family. The high school continued in the independent building after two years. Hostel facilities was also given to the students around 1963-64.


The honourary head master of the school was shree K.V. Subbanna. The school has been running successfully from the past 49 years. V.S.HighSchoolHigh Schoolcelebrated silver jubilee function on 7th June 1989. Shree Bheemachar, sagara, Gopalakrishnabhat, Puttur, R.N. Shastry Edajigalamane, Subrahmanya Bhatt, Bobbi, were the head masters of the school from the past 49 years. At present S.V.Raveendra, Sagara is being the head master.

 

S.Roopashree P.U.College was established with the intension of giving P.U.level education to the rural students. The Foundation stone was laid to the new building of the college on 4th January 1999. Rotary club sagara had donated Rs. 1 lakh to get furniture to the college.

 

Pandry Narayanappa Computer school was established in 1997 to help the high school and the college students get computer. Sharadha sangeetha Shale was also establish in 2002.
